This month we concentrated on reliability, creation speed, and everyday usability across the Steve ecosystem. The release delivers visible improvements to Vibe Studio for app creation, a first look at the AI Book Store, meaningful upgrades to AI Email and Steve Chat, an updated Chrome extension login, and refinements to the mobile experience. We also introduced an external code assistant as a first step while we develop first-party agents.

Vibe Studio

Vibe Studio continues to be the primary environment where teams turn ideas into working applications, and this release strengthens that role with a smoother path from initial drafts to deployable builds. The build process is clearer and faster, reducing turnaround time and making iteration more predictable for individual creators and larger teams. AI-generated thumbnails now give each build a distinct visual that’s easy to scan in lists and histories, improving wayfinding when multiple versions are in progress. Editor and preview refinements improve readability and reduce context switching, so builders can stay focused on shipping. We also introduced an external code assistant to accelerate routine tasks while development of first-party agents continues.
We are also improving the coding agents to achieve better orchestration, produce fewer errors, and deliver more reliable results. As a core feature of Vibe Studio, this remains a key focus for our team and customers.

AI Book Mind

AI Book Mind is a new destination inside Steve to discover, evaluate, and engage with books using AI. The initial catalog draws on widely recognized public rankings, including The New York Times Best Sellers, so readers can quickly find what is relevant now. Titles are organized into clear categories with concise, trustworthy summaries and transparent information about capabilities and requirements, making comparison straightforward and keeping people inside the platform.
At launch, AI Book Mind focuses on discovery and evaluation. Readers can discuss a title with AI, generate a draft review, and share insights with others on the platform. The catalog will expand through October, along with improved signals and editorial collections that surface high-quality options for common needs such as analysis, content creation, and operations.

AI Email

AI Email now offers faster discovery and more effective triage so teams can keep moving without leaving the inbox. Users can search and filter with greater precision, view conversations in a thread style that reads like a chat, and attach files when sending or receiving messages. Streaming responses shorten the time to first result when using AI assistance, which improves responsiveness during busy periods. Accounts that require re-authentication are handled automatically so that access remains secure and message flow remains uninterrupted.

Steve Chat

Steve Chat is more productive and easier to correct during multi-step work. Users can edit past messages to fix a detail or refine an instruction without starting a new conversation, which preserves continuity and reduces backtracking. General responsiveness has improved for longer sessions, which supports collaborative work where multiple prompts and results are reviewed in sequence.

Chrome extension

The Chrome extension now provides a cleaner login experience that reduces friction on first use and during re-authentication. Visual polish and alignment with the main product improve consistency, and access to Steve inside the browser is more reliable in daily use.

Mobile

The mobile app benefits from navigation and performance refinements that shorten common paths and make screens load more consistently across a wider range of devices. It is easier to check progress, review conversations, and act on notifications when away from a laptop, which supports teams that split time between desktop and mobile.

Growth Snapshot

Steve closed out September with stronger momentum, reaching 60,000 total users to date, up from 45,500 in August. This marks the largest monthly increase so far and signals accelerating adoption across fast-moving startups, independent developers, and enterprise organizations. Growth was broad based, with continued onboarding and sustained use as Steve became more embedded in production workflows.

Total User Growth:

September was a record month for app creation in Vibe Studio on Steve, with 7,029 new apps created, the highest to date. Following 4,350 total builds in August, this increase reflects deeper focus on product and marketing, along with ongoing organic growth as developers build on the platform on a regular basis. Updates to the build process and clearer interfaces supported higher output and more predictable progress from idea to launch.

Looking ahead

In November, we will introduce a set of improvements and new features across Steve. Releases will emphasize polish, consistency, and ease of use, with expanded capabilities to support larger projects and more complex use cases. Expect clearer workflows, a faster path to launch, and a more unified experience from start to finish.
